Scott & Alyssa Harvey!
Alyssa Harvey is in her third year of directing the Fortis Boy Choir! She has enjoyed watching the hard work of their singers turn into beautiful music!
Alyssa is the Director of the Scottsbluff Public Schools Foundation. Before moving to Western Nebraska with her husband, Scott, she taught vocal music for 7 years at Osage Trail Middle School in Independence, MO where she directed choir and musical productions. She received her B.S. in Music Education from Northwest Missouri State University in 2007. Alyssa has been involved in choir, band, show choir, and theater for 18 years. She has been actively choreographing high school and college show choirs and musicals in Missouri for 7 years. Alyssa has been a returning judge for vocal music festivals in Missouri, as well. Alyssa sings in Valley Voice Community Chorus and attends St. Francis Episcopal Church. Originally from Kansas City, MO, Alyssa and Scott now live in Mitchell Valley with their daughter, Elsie, and son, Daniel.
Scott Harvey is a Vocal Music Teacher at Scottsbluff Public Schools and eleventh year teaching. Before moving to Western Nebraska with his wife, Alyssa, daughter, Elsie, and son Daniel, Scott was the Director of Choirs at Odessa High School in Odessa, MO. Under his direction, the program doubled in size and added two ensembles including their award winning show choir, Ovation and a Men’s Chorus. He received his B.S. in Music Education from Northwest Missouri State University in 2006. Scott has been creatively involved in choir, show choir, and theater for over 20 years and attributes many creative successes in his career to the great programs available in the Scottsbluff area including the Foothills Theater Program under the direction of Susan Selvey, the Platte Valley Children’s Chorus under the direction of Charlotte Browning, and his excellent music teachers which include Charlotte Browning, Julie Pengelly-Schaff, Kathy Simpson, Barb Becker, and Tami Lippstreu. Scott lives on his family’s farm in rural Scotts Bluff County.

The lessons a young boy learns while working with other young boys to accomplish what seems impossible will last a lifetime!
Our mission is to create a Boychoir that over time will become one of the finest in the country. The United States doesn't have the history of boy choirs that many European countries do but we can accomplish great things by educating boys in the art of singing and performing the finest music in the boy choir tradition.
Teaching young boys the commitment and work necessary to accomplish a goal develops character, discipline, leadership, global awareness, and a strong commitment to excellence.
The Fortis Boy Choir can and will accomplish these goals. We will help boys to feel good about what they can be and take these lessons with them into their future families and businesses.
